You’ve been to therapy before, but you’re still stuck.
Talk therapy works – to a point.
You may understand the source of your feelings, beliefs, and behaviors; but sometimes, that’s just not enough.
You’ve got all the insight and awareness in the world, but you’re still stuck. It’s painful and unhealthy.
Feel invisible? Misunderstood? Rejected? Humiliated? Violated? Your brain can end up storing these experiences as trauma.
And if you don’t fully deal with trauma, it can leave a lasting negative imprint on your life.
But you can do something about it! EMDR can help you break free!
“Okay,” you say hesitantly, “but what is it?”
EMDR 101: First, EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.
Still fuzzy? Don’t worry.
Traumatic experience interrupts left/right brain communication. When that happens, you can’t make sense of an experience or move past it.
The overwhelm that results from certain painful experiences can override your brain’s ability to process information in a healthy and adaptive way.
Instead of integrating and becoming part of your past, traumatic memories can get stuck on the right side of your brain, cut off from the left.
But that’s a problem – because the left side of your brain connects language to experience, makes meaning of it, and adds a sense of time.
If you want to process your experiences fully, you need both sides of your brain.
That’s where EMDR comes in.
EMDR therapy engages both your brain and your body in the healing process. It helps you activate your normal memory processing system in a way that mere talk therapy can’t.
When we activate specific memory networks using the EMDR approach, you can process those painful memories fully, so…
You’re not so upset by painful experiences.
You begin to break FREE and can move on toward a more meaningful life!
Say goodbye to that old distress!
You can enjoy your relationships and feel more positive about yourself and your future.
